A modern love story - one that involves dating apps - is one we often hear. Lauren and Zach shared the story of how they met online and the travels that connected them instantly. A story filled with excitement, energy, love, and laughter is a story we want to tell. More importantly, it's a story we want to stand behind as the two main characters tie the knot.
We met Lauren and Zach about 6 months before their wedding. They were located in Ohio, but planning a wedding near where Lauren grew up in Central PA. They had a date and a few vendors contracted but weren't sure how to bring their ideas into reality and find the last few vendors to complete the team. Alongside their moms, we had monthly planning meetings to hone in on the vision and design, consulted along with the florist, discuss layout and flow, and prioritize the most important pieces of the day for them.
Before we get to their day, I want to recognize it's not the easiest to plan a wedding in an area that isn't easily accessible for you. When you're out of town, it's a bit more tricky to plan venue visits or vendor meetings, you're unfamiliar with the vendors in that area, and sometimes you don't know what accommodations or nearby options you have for rehearsal dinner, hotel blocks, or other out-of-town guests. That's just one of the perks of having a local planner - one who also calls this area home and knows all the good spots and most accessible locations around your venue or accommodations.
When we did get to Lauren and Zach's wedding weekend, the forecast was not looking too sunshine and rainbows. In fact, there were clouds and rain in the forecast all week, with no let-up on Saturday. Fortunately, we knew the end of March could be volatile and the Plan A for the ceremony was always intended to be inside. We also kept a keen eye on the forecast to line up when we could sneak outside for some photos.
It was also important to Lauren and Zach to spend some FaceTime with grandparents who weren't able to make the wedding, so we made sure to schedule that they were able to chat before the ceremony processional.
When the weather wasn't great and the photographer was nearing the end of his service time, instead of making guests head out into the cold and fog, we were able to have a "sendoff" photo inside! There's always a bit of pivoting on the day of an event, and trusting your planner to make those pivots for you can ensure you are present in the moment.
As fast as Lauren and Zach's wedding day approached, it passed. It was a breezy, smooth event that truly highlighted their love!
